Terms of Use
These Terms of Use apply to AI Assistant for Word, software developed and licensed by Smart Office AI Tools. Provider and contact details are available in the legal notice.
1. Product
AI Assistant for Word is a locally installed add-in for Microsoft Word on Windows. It provides features for text editing, analysis, translation, document creation and AI-assisted workflows.
2. Purchase and payment processing
For purchases processed through Paddle, Paddle acts as Merchant of Record / authorised reseller and handles the transaction. The purchase is also subject to the applicable Paddle Buyer Terms. The software itself is licensed and supported by Smart Office AI Tools.
3. Licence
With a validly purchased licence key, the buyer receives a non-exclusive right to use AI Assistant for Word in accordance with the licence conditions stated at purchase.
A lifetime licence has no time-based expiry and does not carry a recurring software licence fee. It does not include third-party service charges and does not guarantee that third-party services or future versions of Windows, Microsoft Word or other dependencies will remain permanently unchanged or compatible.
4. OpenAI API and third parties
AI features require the user's own OpenAI API key. OpenAI API usage is not included in the purchase price and is billed separately between the user and OpenAI. Smart Office AI Tools does not sell OpenAI credits or a hosted AI access service.
Where features rely on third-party services or components, their terms and technical limitations may also apply.
5. System requirements and internet access
The published system requirements apply. An internet connection is required for AI requests, licence checks and certain online features.
6. Permitted use
The software may only be used within the scope of the purchased licence and applicable law. Unauthorised sharing of licence keys, circumvention of technical licence checks, or resale outside cases required by mandatory law is not permitted.
7. Changes and updates
The software may be updated or adapted in response to changes in Microsoft Word, Windows, OpenAI or other technical dependencies. A lifetime licence does not create a right to particular future features or unlimited compatibility with future third-party versions.
8. Warranty and liability
Mandatory statutory warranty and consumer rights remain unaffected.
Liability for death, personal injury, intent, gross negligence and any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited remains governed by applicable law. Otherwise, the applicable statutory liability rules apply.
9. Refunds and withdrawal rights
For purchases through Paddle, the Refund and Withdrawal Policy and Paddle's terms also apply. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
10. Support
Product support requests may be sent to kontakt@ki-office-assistant.com. Payment and refund requests for purchases processed through Paddle are generally handled by Paddle.
11. Governing law
To the extent permitted by law, German law applies. Consumers retain any mandatory consumer protections of their country of habitual residence where applicable.
